Presidential Guard - Homage for Fallen Soldier

Second Lieutenant François Onguene Nga was buried on Saturday June 23.

His journey to the world beyond began on Friday June 22 at the Obili Presidential Guard headquarters in Yaounde where he was given deserving military honours by his peers. On Saturday June 23, the journey ended with his burial in, Nlong village in Lekie Division of the Centre Region.

Also at the ceremony to bid farewell to late Second Lieutenant, François Onguene Nga was the Commander of the Presidential Guard, Colonel Raymond Thomas Etoundi Nsoe who bowed before the coffin. Prior to this, Major Jean Daniel Bekono, Commander of the Command and Support unit of the Presidential Guard, hailed the late François Onguene Nga's services in the military.

He explained that his hard work earned him quick promotion. From Pupil Gendarme on November 14, 1988 to Second Lieutenant in 2010, the late soldier served in the military for 24 years. In 2010, he underwent two courses and was appointed by a Presidential decree of July 18, 2011 to head a section of the 'Companies de Commandement et d'Etat Major' in the Presidential Guard. He was due promotion to the rank of Lieutenant on July 1, 2012.

Born on August 20, 1970 in Buea, South West Region, François Onguene Nga died on June 6 after a protracted illness. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
