"The French daily Le Monde revealed in an article published on its Web site Friday, March 13, 2015, the reasons for the presidential couple's visit to Europe." President Paul Biya, left his country Sunday, March 1, 2015 for a private stay in Europe.
The communiqué from the civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic did not specify in which country he went to and for what reasons.
At least, the communiqué made it know that Paul Biya travelled in the company of his wife and close collaborators, including Martin Belinga Eboutou Director of Cabinet Civil, Joseph Fouda the Special Adviser and Simon Pierre Bikele, the head of the State Protocol.
According to the article titled, "The presidential couple out of the country and in poor health" in which the author reported indiscretions, Paul Biya journeyed to a hospital centre in Switzerland for heart problems and prostate cancer.
"A well-introduced source in the Cameroonian diaspora organizations noted that physicians and other Cameroonian nursing personnel or of Cameroonian origin working in the HUG (University Hospital of Geneva) were recently asked to take a leave" the French daily reported.
It was also revealed that Chantal Biya is not at the bedside of her husband, noting that the first lady of Cameroon did not accompany her husband to Switzerland.
She was taken to France where she is currently undergoing rehabilitation after a cervix operation at the American Hospital in Neuilly in 2013.
This surgical procedure had taken her away from the country for several months. If his state of health permits, Paul Biya will leave Geneva later this week to join the first lady in their private residence in Yvelines, near Paris' wrote Le Monde.
