Prison Officials Awarded Epaulettes

Twenty-nine officials of the Penitentiary Administration across the Littoral were Friday crowned with epaulettes. The ceremony follows a recent Presidential decree recognising services rendered to the State. Awardees are officials from Edea, Douala and Nkongsamba in the Littoral.

Speaking during the award ceremony, the Regional Delegate of the Penitentiary Administration exhorted the whole prison administration in the Region to effectively apply the new policy as prescribed by the Head of State. After lauding their hard work and services so far rendered for the State, the Penitentiary boss entreated them to discipline and respect of hierarchy, the necessity of depriving inmates of their liberty. Also they told to continue to work hand in hand with the administration to make the prison a place for respect of human rights and justice.

One of the officials, who asked not to be named, said the epaulette has come add more grease to his elbows, and that he is more determined than ever for a patriotic service.
