Fru Ndi’s Yaounde Press conference will set the pace for party’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The opposition Social Democratic Party (SDF) will be 25 on May 26, 2015 and the party is turning full circle to ensure that the nation feels its maturity during activities programmed to mark the party’s anniversary.
In effect, it emerged from SDF’s National Executive Committee (NEC) session of May 9, 2015 that the party is virtually set to kick-start celebrations.
Party Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi presided the Ntarinkon NEC meeting where it was revealed that anniversary celebrations will be launched in Yaounde on May 16th.
The agenda features a Press conference by the party’s chairman ahead of May 20 National Day celebrations.
It was the General Coordinator of anniversary preparations, Hon. Awudu Mbaya who told NEC members that the party is mobilising some 5000 members to march past in Yaounde on the May 20 National Day with party Chairman, Fru Ndi as a guest.
It also emerged from the session that anniversary regalia and gadgets produced in China will be available by May 15 for distribution across the country.
A few weeks to the event, some SDF gadgets are already circulating. This is indicative that the party is preparing several take home souvenirs for the anniversary. Among the lot will be T-shirts, mufflers, umbrellas, badges amongst others.
Prominent on the agenda of the May 9th NEC Session were Committee reports on the state of preparedness towards the anniversary celebrations.
Delegates are scheduled to start arriving Bamenda for the event on May 23rd, 2015. Committees to ensure a hitch-free event include lodging, transportation, publicity and documentation, communications, security, health etc...
