SDF mobilises FCFA 13 million against Boko Haram

The sum was raised during an ecumenical service organized by the party on May 24, 2015 in Bamenda.

“The SDF acknowledges that peace is primordial for political parties to freely exercise political activities. We shall not forget fallen soldiers battling the terrorist Boko Haram. We will send something to Chadian soldiers for their good work battling on the side of the Cameroonian soldiers. The SDF is a nation building party”.

That was how the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party, Ni John Fru Ndi, inspired faithfuls, friends of the party and guests to raise FCFA 13.1 million on May 24, 2015 to support soldiers and victims of Cameroon’s war against the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

The event was an ecumenical service in Bamenda to formally launch Silver Jubilee activities of the opposition, SDF party. North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique and Mezam SDO, Felix Nguele Nguele were around when SDF Senators, MPs, Mayors and militants raised the money.

Chairman, Fru Ndi, said it was the beginning of contributions that will stretch over sometime and hailed the Governor and SDO for supporting the SDF initiative. He stressed the need for transparency and accountability in the use of contributions.

The General Coordinator of the SDF Silver Jubilee event, Hon. Awudu Mbaya said the SDF cannot be indifferent to efforts to keep the nation free of terrorists.

The ecumenical service that kick-started the event prayed God to answer the pleas of Cameroonians and cause victory over the forces of evil threatening Cameroon. It also put God first in SDF’s struggle to enhance democracy and justice in Cameroon.
