SDF shadow Minister says CPDM was not created in Bamenda

Jean Takousang SDF Shadow Cabinet minister has refused to stand by those who believe the date CPDM says it was founded.

Last Thursday, March 24, 2016, the CPDM celebrated with pomp and solemnity their 31st birthday throughout the national territory. In Douala for example, several streets were blocked to allow the ruling party of Cameroon (CPDM) hold their meetings.

History teaches us that the party of the flames was born in Bamenda on the 24 March 1985. A version vigorously contested by a member of the SDF, the main opposition party, Mr. Jean Takougang.

“I do not agree with the age of the CPDM being given to us. It is true that fraud is neuralgic; fraud is really pathological in the CPDM. No party was created in Bamenda in 1985.

They just changed the name of the UNC (National Union of Cameroon) to CPDM So when changing the name of something; do we modify the age too? “Questioned the guest of Sam Sévérin Amgo, over Radio Equinoxe this Monday, March 28, 2016.

To believe the Shadow Cabinet minister of the SDF, “Mr. Biya refused to create a party, he renewed the UNC by changing its name to CPDM, he renewed the ideology and the heritage; he also renewed the authoritarian reflexes and reflexes of a single party. ” He added.

If the CPDM feels it’s the origin of multiparty in Cameroon, Jean Takougang differs with that point of view. For him multiparty in Cameroon is thanks to the work of the Chairman of his party, The Social Democratic Front.

“I must tell you that it is Mr. Fru Ndi and the SDF, who brought multiparty in Cameroon. You cannot go to Bamenda and shoot on militants who want to establish a political party and after you claim to have promoted democracy, meanwhile you work against multipartism, organize ecumenical masses against a multiparty system. So far the CPDM is slowing down democracy in Cameroon,“ he lamented.

On motion of supports to Paul Biya, the SDF militant accused the ruling party of “semantic fraud,” explaining further that this practice violates the laws of a candidate to seat for an election. He believes that it is not yet time for the SDF to respond to such acts by the ruling party.

According to the SDF MP,“It is a question of strategy. It is not because a fool undresses and runs down the street that we also will undress to run behind him, “he added.
