SLC party wants Boko Haram eradicated

The Social Liberal Congress (SLC) has added its voice in support of President Paul Biya and the Armed Forces in the on-going fight against the Boko Haram insurgents.

The Buea-based political party, created in 2000, came out yesterday to express indignation against the festering attacks of the Nigerian-lodged Boko Haram.

At a press conference granted in Buea, Professor George Dobgima Nyamndi, SLC National President, regretted that the reference of Cameroon as an island of peace was being defiled by the senseless Boko Haram sect.

He said “damage to our peace, security and development is immeasurable … as the northern part of the national triangle is caught in a recurrent wave of plunder and destruction.”

Professor George Dobgima Nyamndi, who has raced for the Cameroon Presidency twice, grieved the loss of life and saluted the courage, determination and patriotism of the armed forces. “In a special way, we salute the astuteness of the Army’s Commander-in-Chief, President Paul Biya, in preserving our territorial integrity”, the SLC National president asserted.

On 19 July, 2013, the social Liberal Congress joined the presidential majority of Cameroon affirming that joining the presidential majority was not to defy his party the SLC but all should know that now is the time for all hands on deck to fight the common enemy, the Boko Haram.

The National President announced that this pronouncement was the first step by the SLC to mobilize to the scene of hostilities in the Far North to hand over assistance to the victims and the national army.

The SLC party, whose buzzword is The Winning Horse, expressed optimism that the Boko Haram germ will finally be killed so Cameroon can regain its peace.
