Slowly but gradually the case pitting the State of Cameroon and SODECOTON against Enoh Etuge James and seven others will come to an end. The hearing took place at the Special Criminal Court in Yaounde on February 18, 2015.
Enoh Etuge James, Boubakari Bassobo, Tizi Drike Robert, Ebah Gabriel, Montheu, Ngamou Tchakounte Sabin épse Linu, Wanko Fotseu Samuel Alain and Gouvernaye Dominique are accused of attempting to embezzle over FCFA 38 billion belonging to SODECOTON, according to the Examining Magistrate’s committal order.
The session before a panel of judges led by Mr. Justice Mathias Nyoh began with the verification of the prosecution and defence counsels.
As was decided on the previous audience the focus was on the presentation of submissions by the prosecution bench.
However, the prosecution is yet to present its submission and pleaded for more time to be ready with the submissions. The presiding judge adjourned the case to March 6, 2015 pending presentation of final submissions on the culpability of the accused.
