The Cameroonian is not the only footballer to express his intention. Ivorians Didier Drogba and Bakary Kone also expressed their readiness to get involved.
Samuel Eto'o Fils wants to show last respects to the mother of former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo. The great Cameroonian footballer expressed interest to take over the funeral of Madame Marguerite Gado who died on October 15 2014 in Yamoussoukro, at the age of 94, shortly after her return to Côte d'Ivoire after a three-year exile in Ghana.
The information was revealed Wednesday, December 10, 2014 by the Ivorian journalist Simplice Allard. The editor of the opposition newspaper Le Temps, said "the family of the deceased", posted the news on his Facebook account.
"Eto'o asked to take into account all the expenses of the funeral...," it said.
It is learned that that the former captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon is not the only footballer to want to contribute to the organization of the funeral ceremony of the parent of Gbagbo. There are also Ivorians Bakary Kone and Didier Drogba.
"Footballer Bakary Kone decided to take over the cost of the coffin, the morgue and the tomb. Didier Drogba will organize a wake night in Yopougon."
