2015/2016 academic year in the Ministry of Secondary Education has been placed on the theme “Professionalising teaching for the training of citizens capable of supporting and sustaining growth”.
The theme was revealed on August 25, 2015 by the Minister of Secondary Education, Louis Bapes Bapes as he presided over a concertation meeting of senior officials of the central and external services as well as organisations functioning under the supervision of the Ministry of Secondary Education.
During the meeting, senior officials of the Ministry of Secondary Education assessed the 2014/2015 school year in view of setting the basis for a hitch-free 2015/2016 academic year. On the basis of the positive balance sheet presented, Minister Louis Bapes Bapes and his collaborators defined a strategy to ensure that classes effectively start on September 7, 2015 all over the national territory.
In line with the theme of this school year, the Minister noted that all stakeholders in the sector will continue to develop professional training which will contribute to bringing up productive personnel that are qualified with the current economic development of the world.
It was also revealed that this academic year, actors will continue activities related to the reformation of programmes in the secondary education sector such as the drawing up of new specialities in technical and professional education as well as the evaluation and implantation of 6eme and Form one programmes.
Although 2014/2015 results were rated positive, Louis Bapes Bapes urged actors in the sector to redouble their efforts in making it better this school year as well as reinforcing security measures at all levels within school premises.
