Party Chairman, Fru Ndi, acknowledged receipt of her resignation letter at NEC session of February 14, 2015.
On the strength of a letter of 12th February, 2015, the Secretary General of the opposition, Social Democratic Front, SDF, party, Prof. Elisabeth Tamanjong, has resigned from her duties blaming the party for drifting from its initial vision.
SDF National Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi, acknowledged receipt of the resignation letter during the National Executive Committee (NEC) session of February 14, 2015 at his Ntarinkon residence.
The details reveal that Prof Elizabeth Tamanjong could no longer serve the party as the Scribe after “having tried unsuccessfully to make the party revert to its initial spirit, ideals and commitment of the early 90s”. Addressing NEC members, Chairman Fru Ndi, however, thanked Prof Elizabeth Tamanjong who was absent, “for serving the SDF and quitting the position of Secretary General without breaking eggs”.
Prof Elizabeth Tamanjong who remains an SDF militant, joined the party in 1991 and faithfully served as the Assistant Secretary General from 1999 and later as the Secretary General from 2006.
