Security - Transborder Crime Raises Concern

The Delegate General for National Security received New Year Wishes on Friday in Yaounde.

In the face of an upsurge of transborder crime, especially in the East and three northern Regions, the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, has urged the National Police Force to maintain sustained vigilance even though the situation is under control.

"In 2014, your commitment, among others, should enable you reduce considerably the multifaceted manifestation of insecurity," he said while receiving New Year Wishes from staff on Friday, January 17, 2014 in Yaounde.

He praised the Police Force for accomplishing their tasks with professionalism in 2013 and further enjoined them to continue meriting the esteem of the population while avoiding attitudes likely to tarnish the image of the force. He promised to carefully examine grievances earlier expressed, on behalf of the personnel, by the Secretary General in the General Delegation for National Security, Police Commissioner Victor Ndocki. Such grievances included the launch of the construction of the Police Academy, the Police Hospital and the Police Barracks as well as granting health insurance.
