The self acclaimed traditional ruler of Etam I, a village found along the Kumba –Tombel-Loum highways is currently behind bars in Tombel for presenting fake documents as the basis of his position. Elung Njume Peter Kome alongside his uncle Ekokole kitts were arrested following instructions from the SDO of Kupe Muanenguba Haddison Konge.
Elung claimed to be the Chief of Etam I village following the death of his father who apparently was the chief. He is reported to have been brandishing a "fake" photocopy of a Prefectoral Order endorsed by the former SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Eboue Njoume confirming him as the 3rd Class Chief of Etam I Village. It is on these grounds that he argues that he doesn’t see how his uncle, junior brother of his late father, Kome Christopher Alowbede will be enthroned as 3rd class chief following a prefectoral order issued to that effect by the SDO, Haddison Konge.
Reports from Etam indicates that Elung Njume has hoisted the National flag in his "palace" to buttress the fact that he is the recognized Chief following a prefectoral order issued in 2008.
But unfortunately for him, after thorough investigations were carried out, the then SDO was reported to have denied being the author of the said Prefectoral order. It is based on this development that Elung Peter Njume Kome has landed in the hands of the police.
