Six drown in river Dibamba

According to APA, six people were found dead after drowning in river Dibamba not far off from the city of Douala.

According to the investigation conducted by the police of Mboko, a town on the outskirts of Douala, the six persons who were reported missing for three days, had borrowed a canoe to go and cut wood in the forests located along this river.

The overloaded boat capsized under the pressure of the logs leading to the unfortunate incident while they were on their way to Douala. Only two of the eight people in the boat survived.

The two survivors who were discharged from hospital explained to investigators that it could have been the bad weather that caused the canoe to capsize.

They also said that navigation was complicated due to recent rains that fell in Douala and the surrounding area.
