Small aircraft still missing

A missing plane last seen in Cameroon skies on Monday has still not been found despite best search efforts according to a source at the Aviation Authority of Cameroon.

An American pilot was on board the small aircraft, belonging to the Global Aviation Company, which took off from Kano Airport in Nigeria shortly after 6pm.

Information gathered by Le Messager, indicates the unit, which can hold four people flying at 3,000 feet, was on route to Libreville when it was clocked flying over the mountainous city of Nkongsamba, in the Department of Mungo, at around 11.30pm, by Doula Airport’s control tower, before disappearing from the radar.

A reliable source told the Herald that after the announcement of the disappearance of the aircraft, the Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) immediately began searching with the support of the army and air force Cameroonian security.
