Spain to assist Cameroon in urban development projects

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Jean Claude Mbwentchou, granted audience to the Spanish Ambassador to Cameroon, Jorge de Oruela Pemartin, on Friday, October 17, 2015.

Speaking to journalists after the audience, the diplomat said the visit was to congratulate the minister for the confidence bestowed on him by the Head of State and to discuss development projects in the country, notably the rehabilitation of the Yaounde Municipal Lake, social development and housing project and the possibility for Spanish enterprises in Cameroon to participate in development projects.

He said his objective during his stay in Cameroon is to enable Spanish enterprises to install in the country.

Concerning social development and habitat, he said Spain has a lot of expertise in that domain. He said he will make the best efforts to consolidate the relations between Cameroon and Spain.

He said the establishment of Spanish firms in the country will bring in more firms because Cameroon is a country that is going to develop quite more in Africa and that is very important for Spanish firms.
