Student Teachers Prepared to Face Challenges

For some years now, the teaching practice has been neglected with students going out without any pre-hand knowledge and without any supervisor. But this year, the new Director of HTTC Bambili, Prof. Bame Nsamenang, has taken upon himself to ensure that the students embark on their teaching practice as required by the curricular of the school with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Secondary Education.

During the one-day meeting that took in the HTTC campus, students were drilled on topics like internship challenges and benefits, the teaching practice, teachers as models and acquiring leadership skills, amongst others. For Prof. Bame Nsamenang, the over 725 students will be going out as from March to April 31 to meet with the realities on the field through teaching practice.

He recalled that the teaching practice exercise gave the student teachers the opportunity to develop an analytic approach to teaching. He announced that this year, they will work with the officials of the Ministry of Secondary Education as this will make their work effective and efficient.

The Regional Delegate of Secondary Education was around to announce that this 2014, students will do their teaching practice only within Mezam Division; a decision which received a lot of applause from the students.
