Organized by the Steering Committee and monitoring the realization of complex industrial port of Kribi (CIPK), the launching workshop of the study Fund for the development of the Kribi region and CIPK took place in the seaside town.
It was chaired by Patrice Melon, coordinator of the Business Unit CIPK in the presence of a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) led by Hervé Conan, Director of AFD in Cameroon, and representatives of regional and local authorities (Ctd), among others.
During the workshop which was associated with management Cooperation Minepat, participants attended presentations on the progress of construction of the port, the first phase and perspectives; the level of progress of the implementation of the Schéma-directeur d’aménagement global (SDAG), outstanding and projected; accompanying projects; the curriculum development of the Kribi region and how to use the Fund; collection needs etc.
As a reminder, the Cameroon government, through the Minepat, signed a financing agreement with AFD February 7, 2014.
The goal is the establishment of an educational fund and expertise dedicated to the development of Kribi and CIPK to FCFA 13 billion that will be deployed over a period of four years.
This fund will be implemented by the steering Committee and will CIPK to finance preparatory studies and expertise for the implementation of the planning director CIPK diagram, the connecting infrastructure, negotiations of public- private, and the establishment of a functioning institutional framework.
