Teacher killed by ‘cargo’ in Logpom district

A teacher has died after being knocked down by school bus on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the district Logpom in Douala.

The cargo, belonging to Groupe scolaire Wafo, was carrying 40 students. Most of these pupils, seriously injured were urgently transported to the Bonamoussadi hospital.

According to sources the vehicle which finally hit the wall of a house had a brake failure. The movement of this type of vehicle had yet been banned in the city of Douala in late 2014 by the prefect of Wouri, Paul Naseri Bea.

It was a decision that came after the death of more than five people, part of the 20 passengers of a cargo vehicle which ended in the Kondi River. This incident happened at an area called carrefour Cité des Palmiers.
