The President of the cultural celebration of the Sawa people indicates that, the ‘Ngondo’ may be held in the old site without any innovations.
The President of Ngondo traditional Assembly of the Sawa people did not show clearly the site which will host this festival which is held in December each year. "But what is sure is that Ngondo will be held", stated Paul Mbappè Bouanga while continuing that, "If the activities do not take place on the new site, they will take place on the former site”.
This declaration was made recently at a press conference marking the launch of the activities of Ngondo which did not give a clear overview on the site which will host this celebration at the end of this year 2014.
However, "a new 10-hectare site was created opposite the former site. We are still hoping that the land title will be given us by the end of the year. The State gave us for 99 years and a call for tenders was launched already for the construction of the headquarters', explains Paul Mbappè Bouanga, president of Ngondo exercises.
"A lot of work needs to be done. And, fortunately, we are already trying to sign contracts", except that, on the site which now belongs to Ngondo, and the construction work of the headquarters of Ngondo which will be held in December 2014 have not yet begun, he said.
The meeting with journalists was also marked by the unveiling of the theme of this 2014 edition. The theme is "Dipita", which means "hope". This theme follows the theme "Jalatanè o Mballè" which marked the 2013 edition and that of 'peace' under which Ngondo celebrated in 2011 and 2012. "With regard to this topic, we owe it to the message of the ancestors who came of water at the closing of the previous edition."
"After the ancestors have seen that we made efforts for peace during the last two editions, they gave us hope for a better future with this theme of hope", continues the Sg. The theme of this 2014 edition invites Cameroonians to work relentlessly; to adopt a winning attitude both individually and collectively.
