Third female discovered dead at Mimboman

The body tied up, mutilated, lifeless and advanced state of decomposition of a woman not yet identified was discovered a stone's throw from the third chapel Mimboman, said Carrière Déko on Friday, May 23, 2014.

The excitement and consternation held again the population of Mimboman area and its surroundings. As it happens a week ago, one makes a gruesome discovery in the infamous neighbourhood. The woman is said to be at her thirties.

Tied, the victim was allegedly raped and stabbed repeatedly before being thrown into the bushes where her body was discovered.

Alerted, fire-fighters arrived at the scene and took the corpse to the morgue of the Yaoundé Central Hospital, without being able to identify her.

But early reports indicate that the victim lived in the neighbourhood Biteng before her death. It appears she has been murdered elsewhere before being thrown into the enclosure of an abandoned sandpit in the Mimboman area.

This place is also very feared by the locals who often come by for several reasons. "It is a short way from the quarry to Nkoabang input in Mimboman.

But the forest that shelters abandoned quarry became the hideout of highwaymen who walk with machetes, "harassing residents of this area.

Reportedly, several cases of assault and rape have been recorded here.

"Insecurity is total in this area. We organized collections that have allowed us to put streetlights along the road. But as these criminals have become masters, they disconnect the streetlights at dusk and night, and operate quietly.

In this context, it becomes difficult to send a child on the way, or even go out after 19hours, “an inhabitant bemoaned.

As a reminder, the bodies of two other women were found in the same area there a week ago.

Also, it is in the same locality that ritual murders took place last year.

Resolutions taken by the government to curb the evil have not been realized so far. Outside the asphalting of the main axis from terminus to Mimboman Nkoabang, nothing else was done.

In particular, the transfer of the police to Mimboman still faces lack of space to house the police station.
