Three bills presently scrutinised at National Assembly

Three bills from government have been presented to the Chairpersons’ Conference of the National Assembly for scrutiny on day two of the second ordinary session of the National Assembly.

The bills were tabled this Thursday, June 11, 2015 by the Vice Prime Minister, Ahmadou Ali and Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Martin Eboutou.

The three bills are as follows:

Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

This bill authorises the President of the Republic to ratify the additional protocol agreement between Cameroon and the International Atomic Energy Agency on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear weapons signed in Vienna on December 16, 2004.

Physical Protection of Nuclear Material

It authorises the President of the Republic to ratify the amendment to the convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear material adopted on July 8, 2005. This bill was referred to the National Defence and Security Committee for scrutiny.

Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

This bill is intended to supplement some provisions of Law No.2010 of 13th April 2010 relating to the promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Cameroon. The Production and Trade Committee of the National Assembly has been given responsibility to scrutinise this bill.
