Two die in road accident in Bertoua

The accident between two vehicles on the Bertoua – Garoua-Boulaï axis claimed the life of a traditional Chief Majesty Kombo Yaya on 26th February.

The traditional leader of the Mbodomo in Garga Sarali in the Ngoura district was one of the two victims of the traffic accident which took place in the Mbelebeke village, not far from Guiwa Yangamo, about 90 km of Bertoua.

According to the statements from his Majesty Justin Aoudou, Chairman of the traditional chiefs of the Ngoura district, visibly in shock, "it was the truck driving at top speed which caused the accident".

The traditional head of 2nd degree who was alone in his "pickup" car was on his way back from a tour when he met such a tragedy.

Our source revealed that efforts by Majesty Kombo Yaya to avoid the accident proved futile leading to the crash that claimed the lives of both truck driver and the chief. The two vehicles reportedly damaged beyond repairs.

The two bodies have however been deposited at the mortuary of the regional hospital in Bertoua
