The Millennium Sustainable Goals (MSGs) was top in the agenda for discussions during the events marking the celebration of the 69th United Nations Day.
The 69th edition was celebrated under the theme: “Public and private sector together for inclusive development post 2015.”
All actors during the celebration unanimously decided to ignite a new public and private sector partnership which concretely means working hand in glove to ensure a post 2015 sustainable development.
The government was urged to translate the new partnership by involving the private sector in all development initiatives and increase investments in projects that enhance sustainable development.
However, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with the Islamic world Adoum Gargoum on the occasion highlighted the need for the private sector to be more committed.
The private sector’s contribution in formulating institutional and political reforms for the improvement of the business climate in Cameroon was emphasized.
On her part, the Resident Coordinator of the UN System, Naja Rochdi stressed the private sector’s role in economic growth and job creation.
According to her, development could be achieved if corruption is scaled down.
