The resident coordinator of the United Nations bureau in Cameroon for Humanitarian Action, Robert Piper has presented advanced copies of his letters of credence to the minister of external relations, Pierre Moukouko Mbonjo.
The audience in Yaounde was not only an occasion to announce his arrival to Cameroon but also to reiterate his organization’s commitment to assist the country in handling the humanitarian crisis caused by the overflow of refugees in the north and East regions of Cameroon.
The refugee crisis has been generated by the political instability in the Central African Republic and the activities of Boko Haram, the Islamic sect.
