The Commander of the United States Africa Command General David M. Rodriguez was received in audience at Unity Palace on Thursday 11 December 2014 by the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul Biya.
In remarks that he made to the press after the one hour discussions with the Head of State, General David Rodriguez said that he was delighted to have discussions with President Paul Biya during which they addressed security concerns of the two countries.
He pointed out that the security relationship between Cameroon and the United States of America continues to grow stronger and better and praised the leading role that President BIYA plays in the security of the region.
The Commander of the US Africa Command declared that his country was preparing to increase its support to Cameroon in the fight against Boko Haram with equipment and capacity building, by providing the required training of security personnel.
The American General was accompanied to Unity Palace by the American Ambassador to Cameroon Michael Stephen Hoza, who also lauded the growing relations between the security forces of the United States of America and Cameroon.
