University of Douala adopts 17bn budget for 2015

The president of the Board of Directors of the University of Douala (UD), Théophile Ngando Mpondo, opened yesterday on the campus of the doctoral schools of the institution, the 34th session of the deliberative assembly.

The timetable of this Council was mainly devoted to the approval of the 2015 (F 17 billion) budget which closed the first budget of the UD which started in 2013.

In accordance with public policy in education, the University programs that consume resources from this budget include the professionalization of teaching.

To do this, the academic institution has already undertaken to improve the physical and intangible framework of the staff (teachers singularly) and students.

Mr. Oyono summarized recent or ongoing accomplishments: rehabilitation of classrooms and of the universitaire Cité, construction of access, sports equipment and a bridge between the two main campuses, solar lighting, acquisition of digital terminals that provide access to 500,000 downloadable books...

Pending the completion of other projects of amphitheatres (campus 2) and in the faculties of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences and industrial engineering, UD also translated into facts the option of professionalization.
