Uphold military dignity; Minister tells officers

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o, has called on the newly appointed military officials to uphold the dignity of the military corps as they assume their new functions.

Minister Mebe Ngo’o was speaking in Buea recently, while commissioning Colonel Severin Eyenga of the 21st Motorised Infantry Brigade and Captain Lucienne Dzou, Commander of the 10th Military Sector in Buea.

The Minister exhorted the officials to work in close collaboration with other administrative authorities in the Region in order to obtain good results.

The duo was further urged to create an enabling working environment for their collaborators and to efficiently utilise materials placed at their disposal.

Mebe Ngo’o said no malpractices in any form will be tolerated from the officials. Colonel Eyenga was charged with the responsibility of commanding the Motorised Infantry Battalion in Buea and Mamfe in the Southwest Region and Lum in the Littoral Region.

Reminding the two officials of the daunting task that awaits them, especially with the insecurity posed by Boko Haram, the Minister advised the officers to be vigilant both on land and sea.

Before his appointment on February 28 by a Presidential Decree, Colonel Eyenga was the Commander of EMIA.
