Two female suicide bombers have died in Tolkomari in the Mayo Sava Division of the Far North Region without attaining their intended target.
According to the Minister of Communication, two young girls who were suicide bombers, were obliged to detonate their explosives after being identified by a local vigilante group who immediately alerted security forces on Tuesday 22nd September 2015.
As the security officers approached them, they attempted to flee into a nearby farm in the area called Gouzoudou.
The bombs exploded killing them and injuring three members of the vigilante group.
Government, through the Communication Minister, has hailed the vigilante group for its timely intervention and called for more collaboration from the population.
This call is coming at a time when the Moslem faithful prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Ramadan.
The three injured - Ousenau Blana, Alhadji Boukar and Blama Gomi were rushed to a nearby health district for medical attention.
