Youths of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, YCPDM for Meme 1A Section in Meme Division in the South West Region, have been lauded for efforts and interest in the operations of the ruling party. The group had a conference in Kumba from 6th-7th February, 2015.
The commendation was made by the YCPDM Sub-section President for Meme 1A, John Kinge, during a two-day YCPDM section conference, which took place from 6th-7th, 2015 in Kumba.
The two-day conference had as theme, “Reconciliation, a way forward and YCPDM militants working together for a brighter tomorrow." Addressing the over 300 youths, John Kinge also encouraged them to stand firmly behind the Head of State, Paul Biya, in his fight against Boko Haram terrorists, which poses a threat to national peace and unity.
“We came up with the conference because the youths of CPDM Meme 1A have agreed to work together like a team as seen in their massive turnout. It is proof of their commitment to the CPDM party. We want to prove to the world and everybody that CPDM Meme 1A has buried its differences and is ready and willing to work together. That is why we decided to choose the theme,” the YCPDM Subsection President stated.
John Kinge also stated that such a forum was to take stock of activities of the party, see where they faltered and strategize the way forward. He called for total reconciliation of all, adding that the reconciliation was not only at the conference, but also at job sites, homes and every other place.
The failure of the CPDM party to secure councils in Meme during the past 2013 twin elections was not as a result of their inability, but due to greed, backstabbing and disunity among party militants, he alleged.
The conference also saw the presence of the Government Delegate to the Kumba City Council, Victor Nkelle Ngoh, Prince Ekalle Mukete, Hon. Martin Atinda, who all encouraged collaboration, devotion, self-respect and the respect of party hierarchy.
