The Head of State, Paul Biya returned to Yaounde last Saturday after a long absence. Remarkably, his wife who left Cameroon 45 days ago was not at his side.
28 days is the time taken by Paul Biya on his last private stay in Europe. Left on May 27 in the late morning after a statement by the Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, it was not until Saturday, June 25, 2016 that Cameroonians have “seen” the Head of State.
But a major component did not fail to attract the attention of observers. According to The Herald of Monday, June 27, 2016, the First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya, was not present alongside her husband. Indeed, as is customary in recent years, the Founding President of African Synergy is part of the delegation accompanying Paul Biya on all trips abroad.
Moreover, unlike at the time of his last departure for Europe, where the Head of State had not granted any audience at the presidential lodge as usual, Paul Biya exchanged with the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, the presidents of the Senate and the national Assembly among others.
However, the fact remains that the mystery continues to hover over the reasons for the non-arrival of Chantal Biya in Cameroon after 45 days spent abroad. But this should not in principle suspend the continuation of activities of the President of the Republic.
Indeed, according to the paper, several cases are awaiting processing. Including records, the steering completion in both chambers and the end of the session announced for July 1, 2016.
President Biya will also follow the organizational work of the ordinary congress of the CPDM, but also, to make the appointment of long positions remained vacant.
