Before her death, she was repeatedly heard talking to invisible persons.
Hot tears rolled down the cheeks of family members, neighbours and onlookers as they finally confirmed that 54-year old Marceline Ngo Matoï, who was as sound as a bell before she went to bed was no more.
On Tuesday, July 22, the promising “bayam sellam” returned from her business, looking fresh and healthy. As her husband, a taxi driver left for work late at night to return in the morning, Marceline and the children went to bed.
Shortly after they went to bed, one of the daughters heard her mother screaming “are you coming to take me? I will not go with you.”
As she heard that, she decided to go and check on her mother. She knocked at the door but heard no voice and returned thinking it might have been a nightmare.
Around 4:30 in the morning, the daughter went to her mother and asked for keys to start her own business, but the mother did not answer and she returned thinking her mother was too tired.
When the father returned some few minutes after 5:00 am, he went into the room, touched her and shockingly noticed she has passed on. Her remains has been deposited at the District Hospital Mortuary in Logbaba.
