Women Associations in Mudemba receive gifts from Cerac

Hospitals in Mudemba and rural women in Ndian received donations from the association on Saturday at Mundemba.

The members of the association of circle of friends of Cameroon (Cerac) founded by the first lady, Chantal Biya, visited Mudemba over the weekend to provide various health support to the Bakassi district hospitals and also to rural women in Ndian.

Also, for the occasion, women's associations and health authorities came from Isangélé, Akwa and the maritime area which extends over Bamuso, Barombi, Ekombe, Idabato, Barracks, Kombo Itindi, men and women, adults, youth and children to personally witness these moments considered historical in the region.

At the end of a ceremony which was rich in sounds and colors, some 20 women association returned with gifts such as large barrels for dipping cassava, Mills to crush, fishing nets, olive press, hoes, machetes, buckets, while the women training centres received sewing machines, kitchen utensils and other containers.

Beyond the special gift of the first lady offered to the health district of Bakassi (a motorcycle, an overhead projector, a lap top), dozens of targeted health units each had lifesaving medicines, specific treatments for various diseases rife in the area, beds, mattresses, etc.

Magdalena Pondi of the Bakassi départemental Women Forum, spokesman of the beneficiaries Dr. Pascal Fongang Nguemo, head of health district, passing through Lady Abunaw Tabetha Ayuk, delegate of the Minproff for the Ndian, all expressed their gratitude to the first lady and Cerac.

"We're impressed and we feel privileged to receive your visit," they said. The personal representative of the first lady at this ceremony, Ms. Bertha Ndoh, reassured them of the interest that the first lady has in the inhabitants of this part of the country."
