Members of the committee to select the best design for the 2013 International Women's Day fabric in Cameroon began meeting yesterday, September 26 at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family to examine works submitted in contest for the selection of a model for the 2013 fabric. The committee is made up of members from the civil society, CICAM and different ministries.
The President of the Committee, Emilia Nkamchor, who also doubles as the Inspector No 1 at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family said they had received designs from artists in the ten Regions of the country. They evaluated the proposed colours, messages they carried and the level of creativity put on the fabric. Emilia Nkamchor said messages that were taken into consideration gave value to women in their different domains of work and life.
The creativity of the artist was rated at eight points, messages four points and the value the artist attached to women four points. The design and colour three and one point respectively. At the end, the committee selected five winners from which their works will be put together to come out with the final design for the 2013 fabric. Prizes will be allocated to the winners in cash and in the form of the Women's Day fabric
