Workers on Wouri 2nd bridge resume work

They returned to work after a few hours of work stoppage on Thursday.

“The situation is normal. People are at work. And on October 3, we will carry out tour to ensure that the specifications were updated, as promised by the project superintendent. This situation especially was due to the fact that the workers were not informed on their rights and their duties. What led them to think that the bureaucracy is heavy. Certain premiums, which they ask, are normally envisaged, but it is necessary that they are updated. They must have a trade union, representatives",Naseri Paul Bea, prefet of Wouri, gave a small summary of his tour on the construction site of the 2nd bridge, following a stop of work by the workers.

The workers, employed by the project superintendent, thus raised the problems of overtime, insurance, risk allowance for which all has not been paid. They added to be badly indicated on the safety requirements, the contracts. Another request, of wage revalorizations. All things considered, the workers would wish to have better working conditions.

After the meeting with the authorities, they returned to work.
