World Bank vice-president expected in Cameroon

The vice-president of the World Bank for the Africa region, Makhtar Diop, will make a working visit in Cameroon from 21 to 23 July 2014.

The themes that will be addressed during this visit were presented to the Minister of economy Emmanuel Nganou, July 02 last by the Director of Operations of the World Bank in Cameroon, Gregor Binkert.

We know as well, according to the working session that took place between the two personalities, that Makhtar Diop will visit the construction site of the hydroelectric dam of Lom Pangar in the East of the country, dam already more than 50% built and for which the World Bank brings a global financing of 132 million dollars (about 64 billion CFA FRANCS).

The vice-president of the World Bank for the Africa region group will also meet with government authorities on the possibility of financing development projects in the fields of transport of electrical energy, infrastructure road and those of telecommunications.

It will also be an opportunity for Cameroon to specifically address the opportunities offered to the country since his recent admission at the counter of the resources of the International Bank for reconstruction and development (IBRD), an institution of the World Bank Group.
