Yaounde II Council Commissions Mayors

The Mayor and his deputies were installed by Mfoundi Senior Divisional Officer on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.

The Yaounde II council in the Mfoundi Division of the Centre Region has officially had its executive commissioned with the challenge to give preference to its dwellers, shun self interest, egoism and work for the development of the council area.

Luc Assamba, Roger Youmbi Fansi, Rose Anasthasie Bana épse Bana, Palalou Mindjinyoua and Luc Bonaventure Iyouck Bondje were on wednesday November 13, 2013 commissioned by the Mfoundi Senior Divional Officer, Jean Claude Tsila as Mayor, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th deputy mayors respectively. They were elected in October 2013 as CPDM flagbearers after the party emerged victorious in the September 30 twin polls.

Coming at the time when the country is experiencing the transfer of competences to the local authorities, Jean Claude Tsila cautioned the executive to execute the directives of the Head of State on the effective implementation of the process. Also, the need to restore order, unacceptable soundnoise pollution and bring the motorbike sector to order where criminality will not be linked to its existence should be put on the table for immediate solutions.

The SDO also challenged the team to bear in mind that we are in an era where action speaks better than words, and so, accomplishments in all spheres of life that could improve the livelihood of its denizens is what is expected of them.

Taking up the Mayoral position for the second time, Jean Claude Tsila told Luc Assamba that it was the fruit of confidence bestowed on him by the people and the CPDM. Law No 2004/018 of 22 July 2004 to lay down the rules applicable to Councils stipulates that Mayors have to manage council work and to watch over the realization of development programmes funded or executed by the council, and this is just what the SDO has recommended to the Yaounde II council executive.
