Yaounde Protestant University Focuses On Research Ethics

The interdisciplinary week of the 2013-2014 academic year of the Protestant University of Yaounde opened in the campus of the institution yesterday, January 15, 2014, on the theme "Freedom and responsibilities in scientific research."

Speaking at the opening, the Rector of the Protestant University of Yaounde, Rev. Professor Bouba Mbimba said the week will be an opportunity for the teachers and students to familiarise with the concepts of liberty and responsibility; two concepts which put man in the heart of his scientific research.

The scientific exchange will enable participants learn, in detail, the highlights of liberty and responsibility in scientific research in theology, social sciences, medicine and Information Communication Technologies. This, according to the Rev. Mbimba, will show them the need to link liberty and responsibility in their different research.

He expressed the wish that the participants will share the knowledge they will acquire in the conference as it will also enable them improve on their individual capacities, orientate and plan their performance in their research, for the good of all. He called on them to work together so that through research, they will be able to contribute in scientific research in a free and responsible manner.
