Yaounde VI Budgets FCFA 1.6 Billion for 2014

The Yaounde VI Council will in 2014 focus on improving the livelihood of residents of the locality by stepping up development projects. It's FCFA 1.6 billion 2014 budget voted in a joint session in Yaounde on December 18, 2013, the council executive has said, is basically to carry on ongoing projects aimed at developing the locality.

The Mayor, Paul Martin Lolo, in his opening speech noted that 2014's budget has witnessed an increase of FCFA 20 million in absolute terms which can be explained by the increase in the number of vendors at the newly constructed Acacia market. He went further to enumerate the different development projects the council intends to carry out next year beginning with the construction of Youth Centre, the grading of 5-kilometre of secondary roads in the neighbourhoods of Melen 6 and 8, Etoug-Ebe, Nkol-bikok 2, Simbock, Zibi Mewoulou, Akok-Ndoe and Biyem-Assi.

The council also intends to dig three bore holes in Akon-Ndoe 1 and 2 and Etoug-Ebe 2 to relief inhabitants of water crisis. Vehicles are also expected to be bought to facilitate liaison. The Eba annexe building is expected to be fenced while computer material will also be purchased. The upcoming projects, Mayor Martin Lolo said, were conceived as per needs of the population and with respect to prescriptions from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoundi, Centre Region, Jean Claude Tsila was represented by the 2nd Deputy SDO, Noah Noah née Abena Elise Mireille.
