Some youths of the Franky Comprehensive Secondary School in Yaounde have been sensitised on capacity building by the Young Empowered and Focused Original Nurturing (YEFON) movement.
The movement encourages young students to pledge to follow ethical and focused principles as a tool to achieving life’s purpose.
YEFON intends to tour six towns in Cameroon.
It has written three books with the single aim of encouraging the young to be inspirational and original in their works and thoughts.
“Instead of trying hard not to make mistakes, you should rather learn from your mistakes,” said Sahndra Fon Dufe, leader and author of YEFON.
Fon Dufe said the best to being original is to remain focused and empowered.
To her, one needs to avoid being timid in order to successfully ascend the ladder of fame. “In order to be responsible, one needs to have some time regularly, avoid unnecessary noise and distractions,” Fon Dufe added.
Sahndra further stated that her tour and inspirational talk to students was motivated by the low turnout of successive people who take out time to encourage kids on the different choices that lie ahead.
Applauding the initiative, the Principal of FCSS, Alice Njiki, said the students are being empowered to cope with the pressure of secondary and formal education.
“They are being trained on how to make useful choice in life and on curbing noise,” said Fon Dufe.
Ruth Asonganyi of Lower Sixth Arts of FCSS said the training has made her more confident in her life and to have a plan on which she will focus in order to achieve her career dreams.
