On Sunday, August 4, 2013, the American musical ensemble Cultures in Harmony, in collaboration with the Cameroon Nigeria Youth Movement (CNYM), will be putting on a free gala concert at Foyer Bandjoun Hall in Yaounde from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The concert is open to the general public.
The gala concert is the culmination of a two-week community outreach project entitled "Zeal of Togetherness." During this project, Cultures in Harmony and CNYM have collaborated to put on concerts at orphanages, hospitals, and a prison in Yaounde, Mfou, and Etoug-Ebe.
In addition to Cultures in Harmony, the concert will feature Cameroonian and Nigerian traditional dance and music groups such as the Girls of the Equatorial Forest, the Ofu Obi Cultural Music Group, renowned mvet player Pantaleon, the Ekombi Traditional Music Group, and the Hausa Traditional Music Group.
The "Zeal of Togetherness" is supported with funding from U.S. Embassy, Yigitakü Battery, Sté Ekeson Eclariage, ETS Concord, and private donors.
Cultures in Harmony is a four-person musical ensemble comprised of two violinists, one percussionist, and one vocalist. The group has conducted over twenty diplomacy projects around the world.
