2015 state budget focused on completion of major projects

In preparation of the draft budget 2015 stakeholders attended a two day conclave in Yaoundé this week.

The seminar, which ended on Wednesday, was organised under the joint coordination of the Ministry of Economy Planning and Land Use (MINEPAT) and its alter-ego in charge of Finance (MINFI).

Specific and accurate results; measurable or observable; motivating, usable and controllable; realistic and consistent with available resources and objectives; measurable in time, are all terms which, according to MINEPAT, will stipulate the next state budget.

Angos Zangue, Director of Programming of public investment to the general direction of Economy, says it is a matter focusing on the completion of infrastructure projects in the course and the pursuit of those perennials involving the Strategy Document for Growth and Employment (ECSD).

The budget will also provide the means to carry out the actions listed in the Emergency Plan implemented by the State, on instructions from the President of the Republic on 31 December.

The seminar was to ensure that all stakeholders in the development of departmental budgets, which is in the process of being extended to administrative public institutions, understand the issues and implications of the new financial regime.

In regards to efficiency, the foundations of last Tuesday and Wednesday will allow for the National Assembly to draft a budget law adapted to the aspirations of the country and "turned to realistic targets and performance indicators” in a timely manner, no later than 15 October 2014.
