212 forest exploiters punished in Cameroon

Lists of 212 forest exploiting companies, taken out have been punished for violations of the forest and wildlife.

This was made public lately by the Cameroon Ministry of forests and wild life of Cameroon (MINFOF).

Dragged before the courts by the administration, these companies were especially accused of fraudulent cutting of trees, of unauthorized exploitation or overflow volumes, slaughter of species protected or fake and forgery in the establishment of administrative acts.

While some trials procedures against the offenders remain pending before the courts, other shady operators are inflicting heavy penalties sometimes amounting to 250 million CFA FRANCS.
