Biopharma Laboratories, a company located in the Cameroonian capital which controls about 20% of the cosmetics market in the country, will soon open a branch in Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen its position in the West African market.
Sources in the company say the leader of cosmetics market in Cameroon, also intends in the medium term to open branches in Nigeria, the continent's largest economy, and in the People's Republic of Congo.
According to an authoritative source from Pointe-Noire, Biopharma Laboratories will be eyeing markets in DRC, Angola and some countries in southern Africa.
With an investment of about 30 billion CFA francs, the Biopharma laboratories employ about 500 people, and dominate the cosmetics market in the country, which is officially estimated at some 150 billion CFA francs.
