The rating agency Bloomfield Investment Coorporation, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, positively assessed the Cameroon telecommunications (CAMTEL), the incumbent telecommunication operator.
This notation allows CAMTEL which recently obtained the fourth mobile phone license added to the fixed phone a monopoly and replaced the CDMA technology that CAMTEL uses for its mobile products. This should allow this company to obtain financing from banks to improve their production.
To enable domestic enterprises to become more competitive, the Cameroonian Government had authorized last year, four public and quasi-public corporations including CAMTEL a notation.
A year later, this telecommunications operator was also responsible for management of optical fibre in Cameroon.
For some time, Bloomfield Invesment Coorporation has opened an office in Douala, Cameroon to coordinate activities in Central Africa.
