The inaugural flight, Yaounde – Douala – Yaoundé, scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday, December 29, 2015, has been canceled.

Unconfirmed reports said it has been postponed to Saturday, January 23, 2016.

Jean Paul Nana Sandjo, the DG of Camair-co which is responsible for operating this commercial aircraft, has remained silent on the official reasons for the postponement or even the reasons for the cancellation of the inauguration flights which was expected tomorrow.

According to some sources, the security concerns raised by the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority was the main reason for this cancellation a day before its launch.

Meanwhile, alafnet.com noticed late last evening that it was not possible to make a booking on Camair-co website against today.

An expert in Aerospace, Nyounai Nyounai, in an interview yesterday morning, December 28, 2015, by Equinoxe Radio broadcasting from Douala noted that "The Aviation Authority guarantees air safety. And has to make sure The MA-60 aircraft are in safe conditions even in terms of mechanics, that is to say, the plane and the people who will use the planes.

Thus, the aviation authority controls everything, from plane, passengers, and cargo. These conditions have not been met at all. And they could not be completed in ten days. The postponement was, therefore, predictable. We should do a good enough preparation before making an inaugural flight”.

But we differ in this school of thought because these planes have not moved since April. If there were no issues about these planes they would have been in service hours after reaching Cameroon from China. Again, we noted that both have still not been insured.
