Cameroon Arabia coffee exports drops

The National Cocoa Board has recently revealed that according to statistics there has been a drop in the export of Arabica coffee from 2734 tons to 2175 tons between October 2013 and September 2014.

This declaration was made known on Wednesday 29th October 2014 by the National Cocoa and Coffee Board in a statistical data published this year 2014.

The export figures could be revised if the government publishes the official exports and production data at the launch of the new season since the season is still unofficially closed.

Arabica output in the country has fallen steadily since farmers switch to other food types due to the fall in prices of coffee.

The Cameroon government is therefore set to adjust the fluctuations in the export of the cash crop and raise the annual production of the crop to 25000 tons by 2020 through support from Brazil and other partner countries.
