Cameroon Nestlé has invested 18 billion CFA francs over five years to modernize its equipment at its plant in Douala, according to sources within the company.
This investment has also increased the production of the Cameroon subsidiary of the Swiss food group Nestlé, outrageously dominated by the fortified Maggi cube, which represents 90 per cent of production at the Douala.
A leader that is now "mixed" thanks to new equipment, thus eliminating the business of importation of "partial mass" since its Ivorian subsidiary.
"The Maggi cube has about 33 ingredients. But we were hovering around 20 per cent. But with the Ivorian crisis, we decided to no longer be dependent," says an official of Nestlé Cameroon, which claims the creation of approximately 2,300 direct and indirect jobs in the country.
