Cameroon govt offers 600 tons of animal feed in the North to prevent lean period

A generous 600 tons of cottonseed meal have been kindly offered to farmers by the government so they can continue to feed their animals during the lean period, characterised by the lack of food in the northern regions of the country.

Cameroon's Minister of Livestock, Dr. Taiga, has just proceed to the town of Garoua, the regional capital of the North, to distribute cargoes of cattle feed to the livestock breeders in the North and Far North regions of Cameroon.

On this occasion, the National Veterinary Laboratory (LANAVET) also benefited from the care of the Cameroonian government, which gave a large batch of equipment and consumables to the state structure to ensure animal health.

This equipment was acquired with funding for a project to improve agricultural competitiveness (PACA) implemented with the assistance of the World Bank.
