Cameroon invited to Rabat Entrepreneurship Conference

The Moroccan Ambassador, His Excellency Lahcen Saile, was at MINREX on Thursday.

As part of preparations for the holding next month in Rabat, Morocco, of an international conference on entrepreneurship, the kingdom’s Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Lahcen Saile, was yesterday, October 23, 2014, at the Ministry of External Relations in Yaounde. He held discussions with the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum.

It was gathered that the Minister of External Relations, Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo and his counterpart of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, were invited to the conference. Scheduled for mid-November, the gathering will be chaired by King Mohamed VI of Morocco and US Vice President, Joe Biden. According to a source in the Ministry of External Relations, the activities of the Cameroon-Morocco Joint Commission will soon be relaunched with a meeting planned for the near future.

Relations between the two countries are excellent, the source explained. Morocco is a big partner to Cameroon, with cooperation in the areas of agriculture, education, banking, insurance, trade and industry (with the take-off earlier this year in Douala of the Moroccan cement production plant, CIMAF).

Royal Air Maroc, the kingdom’s official carrier, operates flights to Cameroon almost on a daily basis.
